Lonnie Layton is a seasoned professional with proven performance in marketing, business development, and employee relations with over 30 years of dedicated experience in the mental health and substance abuse treatment field. Lonnie possesses skills in coordinating and conducting training programs and excels in conflict resolution with referral sources and employees. Lonnie provides public speaking events addressing mental health awareness and substance use disorder. Lonnie currently serves as the Director of Business Development for Alliance Health Center.
In his previous role as the National Director of Business Development, Lonnie played a role in developing scalable marketing plans. He provided oversight and coaching to the business development team and effectively managed key accounts. Lonnie’s expertise extends to managing day-to-day activities of multiple business development representatives across several states.
Lonnie Layton earned a Bachelor of Science in Health Education from Southern Illinois University in 1990. Prior to that, he completed an Associate in Arts at Copiah-Lincoln Junior College in 1988.
Lonnie has been actively involved in extensive community outreach and networking throughout his career. He has presented at various conferences and workshops, contributing to the broader understanding of mental health and substance abuse issues. Lonnie is recognized for his diplomatic and tactful communication style, making him a capable communicator and high-energy motivator in the workplace.
Lonnie grew up in Montevallo Alabama, which is where he currently lives. He has been married to his wife, Carla, for 28 years and has two sons. Outside work, Lonnie serves as a board member for the Boys and Girls Club in Central Alabama and the Parks and Recreation Board for the City of Montevallo. Lonnie and his wife enjoy serving in their church and exploring new hiking trails.

While at Alliance Health Center, you will be offered a range of services based on your individualized treatment needs such as psychiatric assessment, medication management, experiential activities, process groups, psycho-education groups, nursing groups and cooccurring groups. When you are in need to refer a patient to Alliance Health Center, you have three options to get the referral process started:
Once we receive your information, the admissions team member will either invite the patient to the hospital for an admission assessment or dispatch a mobile assessor to call/schedule a mobile assessment with the patient. The assessment determines the hospital’s appropriate program that fits the need of care for the patient you are referring.
Pre-Admission
Once the assessment is completed, you will be informed if your patient’s condition meets the clinical guidelines of admission to one of our programs. The assessor and admissions team will coordinate an admission time/date with the patient as the next step.
If transportation assistance is needed, they can help coordinate options for you as well.
Admission
The day following admission of the patient at the facility, you will receive a confirmation call/email from your territory liaison. The hospital liaison will provide contact information of the therapist in charge of the patient care in attempt to maintain continuity of care and potential discharge planning.
Treatment at Alliance
While at Alliance Health Center, you will be offered a range of services based on your individualized treatment needs such as psychiatric assessment, medication management, experiential activities, process groups, psycho-education groups, nursing groups and co-occurring groups. These therapeutic activities are scheduled throughout the day. The times may be different depending on the program. Alliance Health Center is an acute psychiatric and addiction facility providing services for both adults and adolescent populations. Because Alliance is just one step in your recovery from addiction or mental illness, we also offer referrals for the patient’s continued care if not returning to the referring agency’s program.
Phone Contact and Mail
While at Alliance, every patient is provided a 4 digit privacy code that’s serves as a permission barrier for external communication privileges. The patient can distribute that code to whomever they wish to allow to contact them while in care at Alliance Health Center. If an individual wish to contact the patient but does not have the provided code, they will not be permitted any information regarding the patient.

Patient may also receive mail while at Alliance. Please be sure to have the mail addressed to the hospital with the patient’s name included on the package. Our front desk personnel will ensure that the mail will be brought to the patient in accordance with our intake policies.
Note: Former patients are not allowed to visit or call other patients for at least three (3) months after they have been discharged.

Pre-Admission
When you are in need of care of Alliance Health Center services, you will need to contact our admissions team at the hospital by calling 601.581.9916 or via the contact form below. Once they receive your information, the admissions team member will either invite you to the hospital for an admission assessment or dispatch a mobile assessor to call/schedule a remote assessment with you. Admission
Upon arrival at the facility, you will be greeting by one of our admission team members at the front desk to begin the registration process. For patient safety, they will conduct of personal search of your clothes and belongings. For items listed above in the “Do Not Bring” list, they will be held in a secure room until time of discharge. The registration process then accommodates creating your chart and checking your vital signs. Once your chart has been created, the admissions team will then escort you to the location of the program which you’ve been approved for admission.

Visitation
Visitors are required to return handbags, packages, cell phones or other personal affects to their personal vehicle before visiting. Staff in the reception area (security or receptionist) and on the patient care unit must inspect all patient belongings brought into the hospital before they may be released to the patient.

Saturdays 1 – 3 p.m.
Adult Senior Program (Milestones)
Daily 3:30 – 7 p.m. or time arranged with unit staff
Adolescent Programs (Bridges and Reflections)
Wednesday 5:30 – 6:30 p.m. and Sunday 1 – 3 p.m.
Exceptions to these visitation hours can be made in certain circumstances. Please contact members of the treatment team for these special requests. Patients are only allowed two (2) visitors at a time. The patient ID Code will be needed when visiting, calling and should also be written on any mail or belongings sent to the patient. Only children six years old or older can visit with the exception of Milestones, where visitors must be 18 years and older.
